FAQ - Change Network

Why is The New Hunting Ban changing its structure?

We received valuable feedback from supporters who were concerned that our previous Advisory Panel model gave the impression of a hierarchy, with The New Hunting Ban appearing to sit ‘at the top’. That was never our intention. As a new group, we’re committed to learning quickly and staying true to our core principle: amplifying the voices of those standing up for animals in the corridors of power.

What is the Change Network?

The Change Network is our new, flexible model for collaboration. It replaces the Advisory Panel and is designed to be inclusive, non-hierarchical, and open to a wider range of contributors - both individuals and organisations. It’s simply a way for us to stay connected, share ideas, and provide space for those with the experience and expertise to help shape the campaign.

Do I have to endorse The New Hunting Ban’s recommendations if I’m in the Change Network?

No. Members of the Change Network are not required to endorse the final set of recommendations. You’re contributing to the process, but there is no obligation for public or formal backing - though we hope many will support the direction and the eventual output.

Will members of the Change Network be made public?

Only if they choose to be. Participation can be public or private, and members can join as individuals or on behalf of organisations. No names will be listed on our website or in campaign materials without explicit consent.

What’s the role of Change Network members in the campaign?

Members of the Change Network will be:

  • Invited to speak at Hunting Hearings, as needed.

  • Given early access to register for events.

  • Asked to contribute insights through meetings, surveys and conversations.

All of this will help shape The New Hunting Ban - the blueprint for legislative change.

Why is your public messaging shifting toward MPs?

Our campaign’s unique strength is our focus on parliamentarians, especially backbench MPs who can champion a new bill and table or support amendments if another bill falls short
We are the only group working to bring these MPs into conversation with the voices that matter — campaigners, legal experts, and those on the ground.
