A Call to Action: Letter to Defra
Twenty years after the Hunting Act was meant to end hunting with hounds, this bloodsport continues under the guise of “trail hunting.” Dogs are still abused, wildlife is still killed, and rural communities are still disrupted.
This week, Neil Duncan‑Jordan MP, joined by over 60 MPs and peers from a multitude of parties, sent a letter to The Department of Environment, Food & Rural Affairs demanding urgent action. The letter calls on the government to deliver a meaningful, enforceable ban on hunting with hounds and asks for clarity on the scope and timing of the upcoming consultation.
While the government has promised their consultation on ‘trail hunting’ later this year, our own consultation is open now.
