An update for our supporters.

The New Hunting Ban
Just three weeks ago, The New Hunting Ban went live. I was nervous — worried we’d launch with a whimper, not a bang, and that our idea might be dismissed as quickly as it was formed. But we’re still going — and growing.
In that short time, we’ve gained hundreds of followers across social media and our mailing list, and welcomed thousands of visitors to our website. I hope that shows this idea is one worth your time and attention. By simply reading this, you’ve already helped expand our reach — by clicking, signing up, sharing, or subscribing.
Thank you for that, and for being here.
Our core idea — to work with supportive experts, stakeholders, and politicians to author and deliver the gold standard in hunting legislation — is already taking shape. We’ve been overwhelmed by the number of individuals and organisations offering their support. (With that in mind — apologies if you haven’t received a reply yet!) Reading through each application, I keep thinking the same thing: “This is exactly what we need.”
Well-known and highly respected organisations have now joined our Advisory Panel, and more partnerships are in the works. In June, we’ll host the first meeting with our founding Parliamentary Committee members — a group that includes former Shadow Environment Secretary Rachael Maskell MP, and Perran Moon MP, the Member who pushed the government to finally begin moving toward legislative change.
I was proud to help brief Perran ahead of that debate — and I’m even prouder of the trust these parliamentarians have placed in our little campaign. Thanks to the emails and messages you’ve sent, several MPs have already reached out to request details about The New Hunting Ban and the upcoming meeting.
After that meeting, we’ll be sharing plans for our Hunting Hearings — a series of in-person (London-based) and online events led by members of our Advisory Panel. These themed talks will explore key issues related to hunting with hounds, with each speaker asked to outline the legal changes they believe are most urgently needed. Our Parliamentary Committee will be invited to attend each hearing, and the evidence shared will inform our final legislative recommendations.
Importantly, these events will also be open to you — our supporters. You’ll be able to ask questions and provide the scrutiny that good law demands. The first announcements for each Hunting Hearing will go out to our mailing list, so be sure you’re signed up.
In the meantime, thank you again — for your trust, your interest, and your openness to this idea. Together, we will ensure that this time, hunting with hounds becomes history.
